Life Cycle and Development of a Baby Rabbit
The small animal rabbit is known to almost everyone. It has two long ears and a short tail. Rabbits are found almost everywhere in the world except Antarctica. Many people also keep rabbits as a hobby.
However, in some countries, they are also considered harmful animals. Rabbits have strong senses of sight, hearing, and smell. They can see almost 360 degrees. They can run at a maximum speed of 29 kilometers per hour.
The average life expectancy is around ten years. But they don’t live long in the wild. Rabbits usually live a year or more in the wild. The longest-living rabbit ever found lived for 18 years. Wild rabbits typically weigh two to three pounds.
However, baby rabbits are usually born at 3-4 ounces and it takes about 14 months for a baby rabbit to become an adult.
The back legs of rabbits are solid. They can jump about three meters long by relying on these two legs. About half of all rabbits in the world live in North America. They are mammals.
Rabbit meat has a good reputation as a delicacy in many countries worldwide. The Chinese are at the forefront of eating rabbit meat. They live in groups in the wild and are always vigilant about their safety from predators. The breeding rate of rabbits is exceptionally high. baby rabbit are hairless at birth. Later, with increasing age, their body hair starts growing. Rabbit fur can be white, black, or grey. As many as 30 species of rabbits have been discovered so far. Rabbits sleep more than eight hours a day. They are most active at dawn and dusk.
