Because of water
A common mistake many of us make when raising rabbits is thinking that rabbits must be bathed like any other animal. However, this is not the case because bathing a rabbit can be fatal. In the case of young rabbits, it can happen even faster, sometimes within hours, as young rabbits are more sensitive. They can die because rabbits dislike water altogether. Based on my two years of experience breeding rabbits, I strongly advise against bathing them, as it seriously endangers their health.
Avoiding dying rabbit scenarios involves not bathing them. If dirt gets on a rabbit’s body, it should be wiped with a wet cloth instead of bathing.
Regarding drinking water, rabbits don’t like to drink a lot, but a small bowl of water should be kept in the rabbit’s living area to access it as needed. However, ensure the water quantity is not excessive.
Due to overwintering
Rabbits can tolerate mild winters but cannot withstand extreme cold. During severe winters, they may perish overnight. To protect rabbits from such conditions, cover the rabbit housing area with dry cloths and use some electric lights to keep it warm. However, be cautious not to overheat the space.

While rabbits can tolerate mild winters, they are susceptible to heat. Many rabbits succumb to overheating. It’s crucial not to confine rabbits in small cages during hot weather, which can lead to rapid overheating and death. Ensure proper ventilation in the rabbit housing area, and consider using at least one electric fan to help regulate temperature.
If you breed too frequently
Keeping male and female rabbits together can result in frequent breeding, which is detrimental to the rabbits’ health. After a mother rabbit gives birth, separate the parents for two to three months to allow the mother to recover.
Mother rabbits often become very tired a few days before giving birth and may sleep a lot. Remember, this is not a sign of illness.
Due to overcrowding
Rabbits are beautiful animals loved by many, but excessive handling and carrying can lead to injuries and, ultimately, death. Keeping pet rabbits in their designated space can help them grow safely and reduce the risk of injury.
We are not providing adequate food.
Many rabbit owners are unsure about proper feeding times. Based on my two years of experience, rabbits enjoy eating green grass, which is highly beneficial for their health and growth. Ensure they have access to clean green grass and occasionally supplement their diet with fruits and vegetables. Rabbits love carrots, so including them in their diet can provide variety and nutrition.
If kept in a small cage
Rabbits thrive on play and movement, which are essential for their health and growth. Keeping them in tiny cages, which they dislike, can lead to loneliness and decreased appetite, eventually resulting in death. Always provide rabbits with ample space to play and move around.
Keeping rabbits in small cages can also lead to leg paralysis and death within hours.
If the proper treatment is not administered promptly
Rabbits are adorable and gentle creatures with low disease resistance. It’s crucial to prioritize their health and seek medical attention promptly if they fall ill. Based on my experience, rabbits can deteriorate rapidly when sick, so immediate medical attention is necessary.
Bites from larger rabbits
When small and large rabbits are housed together, more giant rabbits may attack the smaller ones, sometimes resulting in death. To prevent this, keep small and large rabbits separate.
Attacks by other animals
If you are an animal lover with other pets, especially dogs and cats, ensure rabbits are kept separate, as larger animals may see them as prey and attack them.
